Maité Montero defended her PhD thesis in 1995 at the Pierre et Marie Curie University (Paris VI) / National Museum of Natural History of Paris on the localization, the action and the regulation of several forms of gonadoliberins (GnRH) in vertebrate brain. She moved to Inserm U413 in Rouen as an associate professor in 1996 and became a full professor in 2012 in the team “Functional Genomics” of Inserm U982 and U1239.
She is now a project leader in the team “Neuroendocrine Plasticity and Pathophysiology” of the NorDiC Lab, Inserm U1239. Her current research focuses on the molecular mechanisms involving chromogranins on neuropeptide secretion of hypothalamic neurons under physiological and pathophysiological conditions. Maité Montero is currently the recipient of a Prime d’Encadrement Doctoral et de Recherche since 2022.
